What's your behind the seat metal detector.

I just bought a Harbor Freight 9 function metal detector to put behind the seat of the old pickup. I couldn't be happier. It has auto ground balance, 2 tone, with tone break adjustment, sensitivity, volume adjust, headphone jack. All this for now $60. I took it to a place where dirt bikes and quads have been running for years. All kinds of junk. But, there's coins there too. This detector picked out the coins easily. The low tone is actually a fuzzy kind of grunt. It doesn't sound bad at all. The target tone sounds nice.
It's replacing my compadre, as Tesoro is no longer around. I just don't want anything happening to it while bouncing around behind my seat. This detector, however, has all I need in a truck back seat detector. I'm really surprised. All my targets around here are shallow, so, this works just fine.
What do you have behind your truck seat?

I bought a quest X10 but just as easily could have used an X5. It's a surprising really good machine and is weather-proof. If I'm not sure if I will hunt and leave the Deus at home or if the batteries run out. I can always have the quest to fall back on and it performs very well. I just have to remember to swing slower.

Harbor Freight 9 function here too as my stowed in the truck - just in case detector. 2nd one of these I've had, the first one wore out after about 200 field hours but had paid for itself several times over. Its a clad vacuum, and does well in nail fields too.

iM MOSTLY a water hunter now - My main machine is a Fisher CZ21 - my back up is a CZ21
My land machine (I use my CZ21 on land now a days too...goes twice as deep)
is a Whites XLT and its back up is another XLT
machines are always in my vehicle - never know when i will need one
have had few odd situations where it was lucky i had one with me

Oh wait, I just read these detectors don't do well in highly mineralized soil with iron junk. Which is what I have here. I really am curious about the multi IQ. Though, I really dont have to go deep for targets around here.

Backup is a Tesoro Cibola, but I hardly ever use it anymore.

Minelab gives a 15% discount to all military veterans on ML products. Proof is req'd (copy your DD214 form, Discharge doc or a driver's lic. with "Veteran" stated thereon) and makes all of the Vanquish prods even more attractive. I recommend you "pull the trigger". There are more advanced machines...more complex, more hefty, more options, more, more and last, more $$$. In my humble opinion, ML engineers eliminated all of the complexity and went directly to the core of the matter - - depth, stable target identity, light weight, simplicity and affordability! They may have (accidently) produced "a lot more for a lot less" which probably wasn't ML management's intention. HH and STAY WELL.

ETA - Tahoe, since the Vanquish line is rated "Very Good" for beach hunting (high salt)...I'd think mineralization wouldn't be a problem.

I keep my Minelab equinox 600 and XP Orx in my car usually, bringing them in for cleaning and charging. Not during coldest part of year and if it’s hot I take precautions. Both detectors are in their own backpacks.
