Actually it is not just the sediment bowl but the whole fuel pump. If you can get any numbers off it, it should be fairly easy to trace back to a certain mfg. of car or truck and also date it.

Although its shown upsidedown, as you know the pump is operated by the engines cam shaft...mostly from 4 or 6 cyclinder engines.

Had a similar type on an Austin Healy I had in HS...very simple and almost (almost) bulletproof.

Haven't seen one in XX years :)

Please don't throw it away, it is worth several hundred dollars in working conditonn at any swap meet, depending on what kind of engine it goes to. Get the #'s off of her, they are there somewhere. Let me know, I'll get you more information.

That is an early model Chevrolet fuel pump with sediment site glass.

Used on early chev v8 engines. They later did away with the site glass, which in those times due to water leaking into the tanks at stations was useful, to determine the amount of water collected.

Most that i have seen, or replaced were in the years between 1955 - 1963.

It is a chev bolt pattern on the pump flange.
