After the wreck fell to pieces and was cleared from the rocks I found this plaque in the debris field.

If the boat broke away from it's mooring in a storm, the plaque has no meaning I suppose. If the boat was grounded by the Captain's mistake, the plaque has a ironical meaning lol.

Nope, I heard from a reliable source that it was a complete loss for him. The boat had broke loose from its moorings and drifted to the middle of Long Island Sound. The Cost Guard intercepted the boat and secured it before anything bad could happen. They anchored the boat and all seemed fine, but the storm continued and the boat broke loose from the anchor for a second time. It continued to drift for many miles until wrecking on the rocks of Eastern LI. The wreck stayed there for about a week until it fell to pieces and the scraps were finally collected by a barge with a crane. The lead keel stayed behind along with lots of tools and other things that had fallen out through the massive holes in the hull.
