Been away for some work this past week and was itching to get out. I wasn't sure what to expect or where best to go so I just went to where I last found gold and man did it pay off! First one was a nice little class ring that cam in at 12.16 on the CTX. I expected a pulltab as I had dug a "few" at this point but was much happier with the gold! A bit further on and after ALOT of lead sinkers I started digging a great sounding 12.41 (figured a nice large sinker right?) I hadn't even looked in the scoop yet and was shaking the sand out in the water and I heard it banging around in the scoop (yup! MUST be a sinker!) To say I was surprised is an understatement. "Gobsmacked" might be a better term! It was HUGE! 10K class ring (1969 year I was born) weighing in at 33 grams or 1.16 ounces! The icing on the cake was the sweet 14K band at 7.6 grams.

Also got a really crusty silver ring that I'll clean later and a piece of a bronze ship spike.

Exhausted doesn't even cover it but I'll be having another go at it tomorrow but I could never hope to get that lucky 2 days in a row! 800 mg motrin tonight!

Good luck all!

Some great ring finds for sure. Any chance those class rings have initials for a possible return?

Amazing day, and man does it look like you worked hard for it! I've NEVER found a gold ring, so I literally can't imagine what finding three in one day feels like! Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure YOU'RE the reason I can't find one. Throw one back and at least give me a fighting chance!

The small class ring is a local HS and from 2016 so easy day probably there. The other is 1969 and has some initials inside so stand by while I look into that one.

LOL TRUST me it ain't always like this! Just a good day that had some sand movement. Tomorrow it could all be filled back in OR it could be BETTER! LOL

Doc,, what are you doing out of the water?? Lol
Man you killed it
Congratulations

Finding GOLD! LOL Hip waders and I wasn't that deep. Water was cold but it was in the 70's here today. Rule of thumb: " If ya don't like the weather here in Virginia Beach, wait 15 min, it will change"!

Unbelievable!!! What a day...you have hit my white whale a man’s high school/college ring. I’d love to get one I dream of it. I’ve gotten some girls high school rings, but never a big clunker. I love looking at all my rings especially my gold ones. I might even give them back one day. I’ll make up my mind when that time comes. Enjoy your good fortune.

A hunt we all dream of!

the ring isn’t quite 1.16oz but coming in around 1.06, don’t think that little bit makes a difference haha.

Awesome , I’m actually very happy when I hit the beach and find lead sinkers, that tells me that I’m in the right amouNt of sand to locate heavy GOLD, If I find pull tabs and lots of them then I know unless it’s a fresh drop I’m only looking at light gold.

Cheers and CONGRATULATIONS!
