Which coil is preferred for beach hunting with Explorer II?

I have a Minelab Explorer II and was wondering which coil will go deeper and is more stable for beach hunting in dry or wet sand. The Coiltek 15" WOT coil, the Platypus coil, or the Joey coil? Any information would be appreciated.

I like the WOT, the joey is too small

I use the standard coil. The dept is great. When looking for possible older finds the larger coil may be better. However in the shallow surf the larger coil would not work well, too much drag.

The Joey is not waterproof so probably not a good choice on the wet sand. (at least it wasn't waterproof last I heard... a long while ago)

I make a wild guess but the SEF coil 15*12 could work great to. At least according to some pals in Denmark.

On the dry fluffy stuff what you need is coverage not depth.
Any coil will go deep enough to find the jewelry (forget the coins) people lose at the beach but the larger coils will cover more area per swing. Your stock coil will make an excellent choice for beach hunting.

In the wet sand you would want more depth and the larger the coil the more depth you will get ... generally speaking.

The WOT is great but it took me a while and digging several false signals until I realized it was picking up my scoop at 24" away! Make sure you shouldar you scoop and the depth is outstanding.
