I believe complete sets of Franklin Halves are a real sleeper. You can buy them BU for under a grand for the complete set. They were only minted from 1948-1963 in relatively modest quantities and are all 90% silver. Although there aren't many key dates, proof & ms65 graded pieces are very affordable.
