Which Nickels should I be keeping?

I bought my first box of nickels yesterday and didn't find any war time nickles. I've read a few folks keeping pre-1960... I found about 10 of them in the box and hung onto the 7 or 8 that looked the best. Is it worth hanging onto the pre-1960's?

while detecting I keep all nickels 1959 & older.

But there are really no value there I know of.

coin roll hunting, I'd definitely keep all war and earlier though

1950, 1938, 1939, 1942 (must have an S or P), 1943, 1944, 1945 and any nice and obviously V nickels, buffalo nickels etc..I usually keep pre 1960 and like to keep all uncirculated shiny coins that shouldn't be that nice for its age..On a side note, I keep all foreign coins because they are just cool! GOOD LUCK!

When I did nickels I just kept all 1959 and older since that's what I read other people doing. I still have a bunch of them.
