I just purchased a Blue & Gray Pro and it doesn't make a tone when I hit a target. I get tone on the battery check and when I turn it on. When ground balancing the tone stays the same no matter which way I try to adjust the GEB button. I have tried it in many settings and it sounds the same. I have tested it over a coin and the meter seems to be working OK. I've put new batteries in it and cleaned the contacts. Any help would be appreciated.

Took it to Centreville Electronics here in Manassas. Cleaned battery terminals and it is fine.

thats and oldie but goody . I dug hundreds of civil war relics with mine. in the winter dry air static will cause the meter needle to stick , carry a fabric dryer sheet with you to wipe the meter free of the static.
