Whites Electrical - Buccaneer BFO Mineral Metal Detector

Hi All,

hoping for some guidance or info as I am clueless!

After inheriting a few items from my grandads passing - the titled being one of them, I am looking for some help or direction with this detector. A colleague of mine experienced in the field believes it to be around 1950 - 1960 and has not come across this before.

I have tried to take some good photos, it has one dial on the face and my colleague was shocked about it not having a headphone jack leading him to the dating of it. I am unable to notice a serial/model number but will have another look soon

Any information on the item would be great or if it would be better suited to someone a collector maybe?

There is one on ebay listed as 1970s.
Sometimes you can find detector serial numbers inside the battery compartment.
