I was not aware that there is a special Hawaii version. Can't find any info on it either.

There is indeed a Hawaii version and there is not much to know other than that there is extra shielding around the circuit board. Generally only Whites dealers in Hawaii would be aware of it. Other than that, if you have any doubts about it give Whites a call.
