Who does not use Pin Pointer, I dont just wondering.

Tried for a while to get used to a pin pointer, Bulls eye that came with my DFX, and found it somewhat helpful. However it was cumbersome. Still thinking
of getting a Garret. My opinion eventually became that I can do well enough without one. Accurate pin pointing, a probe and systematic recovery are much
faster and less hunt and peck I've found. Only very occasionally have I found it desirable to actually want a pin pointer.

Dont see the point?....I wouldnt hunt without one. Ive tried and don't feel like spending 5 minutes on every target

Amen. Say that you never tried a telephone but chose to ride to your friends house each time to talk instead, that would be about the same in some similar ways to not using a PPr. I said it before and I'll say it again, "I would quit the hobby without a pinpointer", as a coin and jewelry hunter. Pinpointers propelled my interest in detecting on the first day of using one. Best $127.95 I ever spent.

My Propointer was largely what got me interested in detecting again. It made things much quicker. I'll admit that it didn't completely make sense to me until I tried it.

Personally the first few years I detected I never used a pinpointer. Then I picked up the DFX with the pinpointer mounted. I was having knee trouble at the time an started using it so I didn't have to get back up if I had to rescan the hole. Needless to say I am know a believer in the pinpointers. When your working a muddy sticky mess area they really come in handy.

As a noob I couldnt imagine hunting without one. Right now I pretty much dig everything and there have been several items that I pulled out of the ground that without a pinpointer it would have taken me MUCH longer to find. Thing is handier than toilet paper in the wooods. Thing has saved me a lot of frustration, I'm still learning my AT Pro and I think the Pro Pointer was a good investment to cut down on time, frustration, and the learning curve. I sure wouldn't want to be without it but to each his own...

Even being a noob..that feeling wont change. Its so nice , espically on shallow stuff to just turn it on and put it where you were getting the hit and BAM..you can see exaclty where its at. Plus it elimnates digging a 2 foot radius in the ground.

If we were all digging in Sand and easy dirt, it might not be as needed. But digging in hard Texas Clay...Not gonna happen without a pinpointer

Never felt I needed one, I use a Whited M6 and it has excellent pinpoint on it, the treasure is always dead center of the coil! HH

Diggin-in-Dumps, I'm not sure what you meant about 8"+. If you meant: Do you dig 8"+ when looking for an item that may have been only 3" deep, but couldn't find it? No, I have had very good luck digging finds without missing them. I very seldom dig a hole bigger than a couple of inches in diameter; most of the holes are smaller. When I dug that dog's paw print 'hatpin' the other day, I dug probably about 2, maybe 3 inches deep and ran the detector back over the hole to make sure that I had not missed it. Then I dug on down to about 5" and found the pin. I have a pin pointer and have used it a few times. To me it just seems more of a bother than the way I have been doing it. Everybody has their own ways of doing things; also I'm an old geezer and very 'set in my ways'. lol Also, most of the digging that I've done was in Texas. I know about the Texas soil. I was born in Hillsboro and did most of my MDing around Waco.

I like the idea when some one is watching and their right on side of you and you dig the hole and swipe over the pile of sand and you say Aa it's out of the hole
then you reach and grab your white's bulls eye ll pointer and place it in the dirt pile and
wham
you pull out the target and they look at you speechless now there really dumfounded and of course they have to give it a go
