So I hit Huntington Beach today with not much to show for my time. Some crusty clad and a cupple pieces of junk jewelry. I seen two other detectorest out there and only spok to one of them but he had just started. I'm gunna head out tomorrow if anyone wants to join. I'm not sure what beach I'm gunna hit just yet. Any suggestions?

I as out. Saw a few dudes too. I cleaned up on clad. About $30. Scored a gold and a silver ring in a 7 hour hunt. Expected more. Might stay home tomorrow to be honest.

I went out for about 90 minutes before sunset. Wasn't great. Got some clad but nothing special. Saw a few holes dug in the surf that someone hadn't filled in, a few pretty deep. I filled them in. Saw a guy with an AT Pro a ways away as I left, was probably him.

Planning to head out again after work tomorrow as well as the weekend.

Come on, redcobra! PICTURES! We, in the land of "not yet thawed," need to live vicariously through you.

Lol. I was tired and wanted to clean up the silver ring before I posted.

Nice redcobra8u. That gold looks nice and bright. What k is it?

I went out today but just got clad and junk. Did better yesterday at a different beach, but, cut it short when the lightening started! I'll probably give it a try again tomorrow.

I got 90+ coins @ my first stop on a certain beach here in Monterey Bay. Plus a silver earring and a gold crow-tooth. Could have done 200 if I'd wanted, and would've had a chance at jewelry in with that mix too. But got greedy and wanted to see if other beaches were likewise going off. Because the first stop had a bit of a "scattered" feel, versus thick pockets where you don't even have to walk around (sheesk, am I spoiled or what ?).

At 2 other beaches I found cuts and clad, but no gold. Ended the day with 190-ish coins. Lot of potential out there, but not like some glory day cuts/scallops of some past El Ninos' so far.

At least you have calm conditions! :laughing7:

You guys on the west coast are killing me. I hit the beach at 5am 2hrs before low tide to find it completely sanded in. Classic "you are f'd" appearance. Searched dry sand for an hour and gave up. One junk earring and 60 cents.

I'd have tried another spot, but I did that last night, hit a spot nobody hunts, also sanded, dry sand for 2 hours and found 50 cents.

Gulf coast of Florida is sucking right now. Add the huge amount of tourists down here detecting the dry sand and there isn't much left to be found.
