A lot of memories there, R2D2. I can see how your taste in music has changed over the years......from Ozzy Ozbourne to Martina McBride. :o

Neat post! :)

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!

wow rob, you saw some great shows. aerosmith, allman bros, stevie ray, early van halen, black sabbath ( i am a black sabbath fanatic!) ozzy, bad company, boston, rush. i would have loved to have seen all of those! i actually did see most of them eventually, just a bit later in thier careers. cool post!

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!

Charle Daniels and Rollins Band on the same ticket? Who put THAT one together? LOL! They're both hardcore conservative, but other than that........ whew! Couldn't get two more dissimilar bands together. :D

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!

Some really early rockers there.

I got to see Skynyrd live 2 days before the plane crash in a festival seating concert where I was on the 3rd row, it totally rocked. Saw Stones live in 75 front row, Hendrix in '69 live, Rod Stewart in '72 with Ron Wood and Faces on their U.S. Tour. Also got to see early Mountain, ZZ Top, REO, Boston, Bad Company, Aerosmith, Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Charlie Daniels, Johnny and Edgar Winter together, Zepplin and Tull all before 1978.

Give me that old time rock and roll every time. ;D

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!

Yeah, I was thinking of Rollins band. Henry Rollins, punk/hardcore stuff. ;)

Rtde,

Stones was on same tour, that's cool. I saw then in Minneapolis Minn paid $20 for ticket from a scalper. Billy Preston was on the Keyboards, and Chaka Kahn opened the show.

We were one of the first through the doors and an usher came up to us and told us that there had been a mistake and one section of seats were never sold and we were welcome to sit there if we wanted, we got front row on the left side and the show totally rocked. They were using body builders for security so the only people between us and the Stones were them. Well that and the smoke haze. ;)

In 1978 went to a show in Omaha, Neb It was Bad Company AND Aerosmith!

Majority of the early shows I saw were festival seating and we always worked our way up to the front rows to watch. I still have a Confederate flag that Ronnie Van Zant threw to me after I threw a "party favor" to the band, Skynyrd was passing out Jack Daniels to the crowd.

After all these years I'm still an old time rock and roll fan and still listen to good old Southern Rock! ;D

rt,

No Iron Maiden?? Shame on you. :D

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!

Uriah Heep........Never got to see them and I wish I had, loved their music.

What really hurts is to see the ticket costs then compared to now. The last live concert I saw was Rod Stewert in 1994 (for the third time). I Paid $100 each for 3 tickets. It was the first concert my daughter (13 at the time) saw and I also took the "wicked witch of the west", also known as my ex.

That was a Great Concert.

Blue Oyster Cult Played First.

then Manfred Mann

Then Uriah Heep

At the end they all came out on stage

and lined up side by side with their Guitars and just started Jamming together. No idea what they played, No singing no Drums, Just Guitars.

My very first Sit down in front of the stage & Party Concert
was Edgar Winter Band. Golden Earring played First as a Fill in
for a band that didn't show.

They were so great in concert, especially doing Candy's Going Bad
I was bored with Edgar Winter

$5.00 a ticket.

Actually Bassfish I saw Iron Maiden (and Eddie!) open up for Judas Priest. Dokken was the third act. I think it was in 1982. That ticket is shown here but they did not alway list the opening act on the tickets.

I saw that "go round" here in Glens Falls NY

The Stevie Ray has me jealous.....never assume you'll catch them next time by :(

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!

Just my opinion but the groups today just don't come close to measuring up to the heyday of hard and southern rock.

I also loved Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, and Allman Brothers when Duane was alive. Never saw BOC or Rush, did see Allman several times, but wasn't lucky enough to see them when Duane was alive. I also got to see Iron Butterfly if anyone remembers them.

I loved early REO, before they went commerical with the ballads. First time I saw Tull they did the entire Thick as A Brick as the show, and the encore was the entire Aqualung Album.................

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!

I just saw Cactus reunite for a private party in La. It was for PRS gutiars at the NAMMs convention. What a blast from the past! PRS is Paul Reed Smith. I played in a band with him in high school.

back when i was a musician we were on tour in annapolis maryland and i met a guy who worked for paul reed smith. he offered to custom build me a guitar for pretty much the cost of the materials. at the time i had never heard of prs guitars, and had about 4 already, so i told the guy "thanks anyway". ::) ....man that was stupid! if i had only known then what i know now about PRS! they are awesome handmade guitars. oh well. :-[

Re: Who Still Has Their Concert Ticket Stubs?? Here's All Mine!
