Hi everybody.

One of my friends in Poland has found a button with an eagle holding laurel crown on it.
We have no clue where it might come from.I mean - who used such a buttons in the past. ::)
Came of the ground, of course... ;D

That's the pic of it.

Here is a link to our website in Poland, topic about this button. You can find more pics there.
Owner of a find thought, that it might be related to American buttons - that's why in one of posts is a pic of American button. :)

Mainly, We think that it is some kind of German button - for sure isn't Polish.

Can anybody ID it for Us ? PLEASE...

any world war two battles fought where it was found? more about the area where it was found and any military battles may help --- seems to look like a military uniform type button at first glance.

I'd guess you think of the german eagle right?
It could be, but I'm not sure.

As soon as I be able to, I'll let you know where it was found exactly. It's not my find.
But... During WW2 whole Poland was a battlefield, this button might be anything - cos a lot of soldiers of different nations fought in Poland.
Anyway, thanks for engagement.

I've been looking around and cannot find one like it.

In addition, the site you posted looks like many folks have found them in different varieties of "eagle clutching wreath".

I have no idea.

Not too many, three. All of them live in Poznan.
Button was found in a village called Radziewice, nearby Poznan.

I would figure the "local" angle... old uniforms from teh area, maybe some old-timers would know. Did folks from there belong to a certain outfit, company, army... what have you?

It may just be a very localized button...
