I guess his name cant be harry.

It’s not too abnormal this time of year to see a fox missing giant clumps of fur as they shed their winter coat. They can look pretty nasty during that period. We had 7 or 8 rabid fox attacks on people in my area last year. If they’re rabid they are normally very aggressive

That is not normal for them to lose the hair down to the skin. All the hair off the tail is a sign of sickness, probably mange in this instance.
Spotty inconsistent fur thickness ya..but not bare wrinkled skin.

The sad truth is that well meaning people generally do not understand nature.
Predation, sickness, hunger, death, ect. are nature's method of keeping the balance which is necessary for the survival of other species. We feel bad, but it's been this way for millennia.

The WORST thing you can do is interject and feed wild animals.

Actually a very abundant population of foxes is what causes zootonical diseases such a rabies to flare up. Mange is the same way.

There is supposed to be a natural cycle of flourish, overpopulation, sickness, death, flourish....ect. Artificial feeding and medication is not part of the cycle..oddly predation is.

I've been living in and with nature for the last 66 years, and understand it perfectly well, but thanks for your thoughts on the subject.
