Why am I seeing a Not Secure Warning at the top of the home page?

I've been on this site for a number of years now and never have seen this warning.

It says Not Secure TreasureNet

Something new going on?

It means a computer between you and Tnet could see your password, PMs, etc. If you don't use the same password on other sites, the risk is minimal.

I don't get that but since switching to Google Chrome so I can watch the video's posted on here I'm getting popups. Never had a popup before switching.

If you look at our web address at top it is HTTP:, not HTTPS:, (Https is secure). Since we do not do financial transactions where cc card info is transmitted there is no need for https.

Small question, what's the difference between "http" versus "https"?

I mean...why not make it a secure connection? I do know of computers, (a bit more than most), and I would think that any site that keeps a login option, should be secure for the ones who do log on. IMLLTHO ...of course.

Probably extra programming work and cost. Plus we would probably have to log on securely every time too and maybe have to jump through extra security hoops. Like TH said, no need, so, no extra security.

I am on another detecting site that uses a HTTPS link and do not have to continually log in. The site allows you to stay logged in if you wish.
