I started detecting with my Dad when i was 7 years old. I started out with a all metal detector. I went every where. I bought a Whites 6000 in 1992 and it just this year started having problems so my Father who now works on model t fords let me use his Whites Spectrum. I can not stop going out this is a sickness i have. I have hit the same spots houndreds of times and still find silver coins, kid rings, gold rings, exe. each year the ground heaves up something i missed last year. I have a old park that is all hard woods that i hit every spring and when i dont want to drive very far. the park has lots of junk and fallen linbs but every year i find coins I found a half dime at that park, first one ever, it read as a twist cap. so do not trust what the detector said it is. I learned to dig everything, with the new detectors it was to easy to dig just coins so i missed a lot of rings over the years but not now i found 3 gold rings just this year. well like i said i am addicted to detecting so i could talk forever but i will stop now hope you find the find of a life time, good luck.
