How many people switched to tesoro from another brand and why? I am not really brand loyal. I have had many different brands and I just got a fisher water machine off ebay but it just seems that tesoro has the most bang for the all around buck. Good performance ,lite weight and warranty and you don't have to mortgage your home to get one. What do you think?

I think you're on track. I owned a Garrett for a short time. It was my first detector given to me by a friend that had it in a closet for several years. It was a low end detector, but in it's time it cost as much as my Vaquero. Using it and doing the research online made me realize just what I wanted in a detector. That's when I bought my first Tesoro and I have never looked back. With the Garrett I would have needed a pinpointer. With my Tesoro's, and I now have three, I don't. When I pinpoint a target it is in the plug or just deeper, much deeper. :o

Tesoro rocks and with all the coil options available, You don't need a new detector. You can buy another coil and you have a brand new detector. I will be buying a new coil in a few weeks and maybe, just maybe, I will buy a Tejon in a couple of years. :headbang:

Good Luck
Randy

OK before I say this ace 250 users I'm glad you like your machines lets end it there .....I started out with an ace 250 that was given to me as a gift ..I couldn't find a Gray hound bus sitting inside of it , no matter what I did it was crap....I picked up a Tesoro Eldorado used by chance an fell in love with the Tesoro Machines , my Eldorado is here to stay as other machines may come an go , I'll have more Tesoro machines because I like the machines an I have come to really like the company service . (altho a little disgruntled at the moment over the water machine fiasco)

Tesoro's rock :headbang: HH Tank

i have had other brands that i really like (and still do) but i love the Tesoros. They just do a great job at what they are intended to do without all the fluff. They are simple to operate and you can swing one all day. I have the Vaquero that just amazes me every time i use it and have a DeLeon with some coils that will be here next week.

I cant really campare the two because i have only had the etrac for about 2 weeks and did not even use it the first week, (i had the flu). The two detectors are so different that i don't know if i can even compair the two at all.

I dont use a Tesoro cause id miss 2 gold rings within 6 inches of each other. :D Haha, sorry. i had to throw that out there.

I use one because of course the light weight, service, and depth of the beep and dig machines, oh yeah and the discrimination, almost forgot to mention the look on my huntin buddy's face when I find the goods. I use a homemade plugger a majority of the time because of the unkept terrain I hunt in, and I never worry about boinging up a coin because the pinpointing is so tight I never miss.

I have a number of machines from different manufacturers so I'm able to compare a little. The Tesoros are still my favorite for several reasons. Relic hunting...lightweight, sturdy, and I don't worry about scratching a faceplate or screen. Coin hunting....pinpoint is so tight that I never use a handheld pinpointer. Depth.....extreme. Fun factor....very extreme! Service....awesome!

Tesoro rocks!! :headbang:

My silver u-max will pick up both even if they're an inch apart.

I have a good size collection that my old Eldorado his hit both silver an gold it loves em both :tongue3:

Yea RPG, I bought an old home built in 1920 and hunted most of the yard except where I had put all of the junk that came out of the house when I redid it. Old cabinits carpit, tons of garbage that I put out by the curb. Well I knew there were lots of screws and nails in that spot so I never hunted it . I told Jonny Reb to come over ,the yard was loaded with silver dimes and buffs and tons of wheatys "there is plenty for both of us" and we both were finding coins and old toys and what not .I saw him head over to the area where I had had all the junk piled up and I had never hunted it and low and behold he pulled two nice gold rings side by side right next to each other. I just stood there like some poked me in the eye. You never know whats under the soil.

I just bought an old home in NC with 3 acres and I believe I am gonna keep this for myself.Lol

I've been round the block several times and always come back to Tesoro.

Once you've owned one and really learn it you never get over it.

Tesoros have been since their first models--no nonsense detectors. I have to hand it to them they are one honest bunch.

Like I wrote to someone else just recently, I have no idea how they manage to stay in business with all the free work they do. I mean I know people who have purchased used Tesoros that were totally abused and Tesoro completely repaired them free of any charges. They even pay the postage to return the machines!

But Tesoros are much more than a good warranty. They produce the goods!

I've rehunted sites I hit hard with Tesoros and even with an Explorer and the awesome GT I find nothing worth digging.

Birdman back a year or two there was this fellow posting detecting videos on YouTube and he had a pretty good following it seemed. He started with an Explorer SE as I recall. After a few videos he suddenly started appearing with a Cortes. Lots of guys posted questions about why the change but he never posted any replies (wise fellow). I need to check sometime, maybe his videos are still online.

Tesoros are:
1. light weight
2. deep enough
3. reliable
4. balanced extremely well
5. fast on targets
6. awesome pinpointing & target separation
7. unbeatable warranty & a company who appreciates it's customers

Oh yes, and Tesoros really are made in the U.S.A.

And THAT was not even Tesoro's fault. It was because one of their parts suppliers went under.
