Why is it that a great find at the start of a hunt spells doom for the day?

Am I the only one this happens to? I'll get out of my vehicle at a new site and find a great coin or relic, and nearly ALL the time this happens, I won't make another good find at that site all day!! How many others has this happened to? Please relate! I CAN'T be the only one this happens to! Great hunting and good luck!! Regards, Richard.

Your excitement causes your hearing to shut down after your first great find. In anticipation of another great find you inadvertently start rushing your coil swing. Take a deep breath after your first great find, slow down, relax and find your second great find. This works for me. Good luck!

Lucky6, Thanks for the reply!! You could be right about my hearing shutting down. But one would think that every once in a while, I would keep all my wits about me. I haven't noticed getting overly excited, to the point of speeding up, that is. However, I suppose I wouldn't notice, since the affliction was effecting me. :-\ Great hunting and good luck!! Regards, Richard.

It could be that you get exited and lose concentration or maybe started to swing your coil a little faster than normal or both. Besides I've gone out many times and not made one good find let alone multiple good finds and other times you do. You'll find that virgin site and when you do be sure to invite me along. HH
