Why The Bashing ?

I noticed that on many different sites the Garrett GTI 2500 or (At Pro) seems to always be compared to the Minelab E Trac . Then the Garrett gets a good verbal bashing from the E Trac users . The E trac is a much more expensive unit ($500-$600 more) . Is it not like comparing the BH Quick Silver ($100 ) to the Garrett At Pro ($600 ) .Then tearing into the BH detector ? In all fairness how can detector owners bash lower priced units ? I would hope that a more expensive unit would outperform a detector costing hundreds of dollars less .

A better question might be,"Why do Garrett ATP users so want their machines to be competitive agains vastly superior units?"
Or, "What makes a Garrett ATP user begin to expect that his machine can compete against one that costs 3 times as much?"
Or even,"Why does anyone spend money on a waterproof machine when they have no plans on getting into the water, since part of what they paid for they will never use?"

I dont own any minelab but i do own a garrett and i bash them all the time because there just not a good machine if they didnt like bottle caps so much id be alittle more forgiving but do you know how annoying bottle caps can be when the garrett is screaming a silver quarter dime signal and my friend waves his bounty hunter over my target and gets nothing and tells me its trash....never again will i buy a garrett

it's all about sweep speed, depth, discretion, and sound and information on the screen
if your detector does have all five then you better get a white's the screen part is option-able..

they say if you had full coverage on a Corvette by the tenth year you could of bought another Corvette just what you paid in insurance...
