Seems White's is only interested in promoting its products and damn the repercussions to the hobby by the American Diggers. Newbies only see the White's commercials and think they can just dig up any piece of grass and make amazing finds just like the guys on TV as they can see what it is on the meter before they dig. You never see anyone in the commericals place the dirt on a sheet of plastic for placing it all back in the hole so no trace is left of you being there.

No minelabs then as well you notice his son uses a whites detector with minelabs headphones and they get payed per show for using that equipment. They didn't know how the show was going to be done I'm sure as well as having no control over the show or how its done.

That is a sad advertisement and commentary for the new Whites Electronics' management team. They should all be dismissed and do an etch a sketch....They have placed their trust, for the last few years, in the wrong people not only in their sales department but also in their engineering department. Talk about out of touch with their clients and becoming unknowledgeable in their business!

Write Whites and express your Dissatisfaction with them mentioning American digger
& Why you feel they should at least distance themselves from the show.
They should know by now the majority of their customers Hate American Diggers tactics

They can't tell the actors they can't use their Brand, but they can at least refuse to support the show

if you google Minelab you don't see an add mentioning American digger.

A reputable manufacturer would not mind a head vs head comparison of their model. Better yet, an honest, reputable manufacturer wouldn't hesitate recommending a competitors model if it was truly in the customers best interest. What they do on their forum is their business, but it is unbelievable that they would strike a post because of mentioning a different brand. Happened to me too. They also don't like mentioning other forums. But, getting behind and sponsoring a show like American Diggers is unreal. They have no regard for proper techniques, they really don't look like they know how to use their equipment, they have no regard for the land owners property, and worst of all... they have no regard for the historical significance of the items they find. Purely for profit. At the end of they show they take the items to the experts. While getting a history lesson, he interrupts the expert and asks what it's worth. Since that show came out, when I ask for permission to hunt on a property, they ask what their "cut" is. They have seen the show or have heard of it.

I haven't ever heard him ask "What's it worth ?"

You know, at the end when he takes the items to an antique dealer or similar to get them to buy it from them, then goes back to pay the land owner. Then they say something like "We dug for three more days at the property, and made a grand total of $18,000"

Every Whites detector that I purchased came with a video tape or DVD that showed how to properly excavate a coin or treasure from the ground. One first took out a plug, put a drop cloth down next to the hole, then put the excess dirt on the cloth to find the coin. After the recovery of a treasure, one reversed the process so that no one could not see where someone dug a hole. Thus, the new Whites has surely changed it's policy and it goes against the grain of the old Whites Electronics management team that insisted that in order to continue to sell detectors that the environment must be maintained by the detectorist and that it should be left as one found it. It is as if the new management does not use it's own products and has no idea of the increased closed areas due to people like Savage and others that savage the grounds that will surely curtail areas to use a metal detector.

I am an avid White's user, but this disgusts me.

Sure, they can't control WHAT the obnoxious idiots use on TV, I can understand THAT. But to openly try to use THAT show to promote your machines?

It don't take much to hit a nerve at the whites forum.Any what they call nagative talk about whites or their products and a few of the mod's are all over ya.I see the head cheese mod "Fox" got ya.Yeah,he's not one for nagative views or opinions against whites.The forum members their are a great bunch but some of their mod's are just way too much into kissing up to whites.

Wouldn't it be great to silence views you don't agree with by virtue of a perceived authority? Moderators tend to have a lot of arrogant people in the ranks.
