will an Explorer SE make much difference?

After reading even more on the Infinium they say that some have dug PULLTABS at 2 feet! (going nuts soon?)
And the Se coins at 18" (any difference?)
I can't imagine anybody useing a PI for other than in a trashfree goldfield or maybe in saltwater...go with the SE & stop pondering.

No, it's good to look around even if the Se has great disc. It will surely get falsings one way or the other.
The Infinuim will have an edge in high mineralisation. Even if boht should do good under "normal circumstances". (where disc is not active at all)

I was using an Infinium on an inland beach (highly mineralized w. dissolved fertilizer salts) and found more, at depth, than with the VLF units (including a Sov. & Excal. w. WOT, 10", 8" coils). The thing with the Infinium 2 to0ne system is that it will read the same at maximum depth (though fainter), unlike the VLF's which start shifting everything down to iron at depth. Did side to side comparisons (in ground) and found such to be the case. Not only that.. the Infinium was much more sensitive to tiny, low conductive targets; it could detect my 3 grain tester, with the large coil, at about 1". The Sov./Excal. coulbn't do so, regardless of coil/mode/sensitivity. Now, I can't really comment on the Explorer, save to say that I found a lot of the BBS claims to be rather spurious (in regards to my ground) and view the those attributed to the Explorer with some skepticism. ...Willy.

I went back to my Explorer 2 after using the SE for about 4 months, just not that impressed and with FAST on it is out of control.

Screen was splitting, traded it in for another, screen split again, chassis squeaks when I swing it...

Love the new PP system though once I got used to it, got back to finding silver after putting the SE back in the box. :-\

The Explorer 2 is an amazing machine and now that they are getting cheaper it is a far better investment for the $$.
