winter dunes

Today was magnificent! It reached 45+ degrees and I had to hunt somewhere so decided to head to the "dunes"...Tower Hill

I find this part of the country to hold a very distinct and unique vibe...serene, crisp and magical.

Lake Michigan, Warren Dunes to be exact.

I didn't find much but I didn't care, I was really workin' on my base tan

I just love those pics ! That first one really gets your attention. Almost looks like you are on a distant planet somewhere else !

It does look alien! Not many people know these HUGE sand dunes exist here in Indiana/Michigan!

well I think you were right...no bse tan action. So it's off to a tanning bed, without my rocks (I thought I had some florescent rocks and took them to a tanning salon once) wrong kind of UV light

OK, OK, I think you found what I lost back on July 4th 1966, slept on one of those dunes and gotten awaken by a very nice Ranger.

Beautiful photos of the dunes and I know I was surprised to see such big dunes in Michigan. Oh by the way, that year it was HOT on 4th of July weekend and that sand was on fire!!

I sincerely love this area...I sat on top of Tower Hill and smiled big!
