Anyone Ever Heard of the Gold Stinger X6 ??

The reason I am asking is I decided to get back in the hobby after years of being away from it. I decided to get the very best that money can buy. I contacted Metal Detectors Pro . They have a web page on the internet. I talked to Kurt and based on my criteria what I was looking for he told me about the STINGER X6. and it suppose to be made in the USA as it says on the box by Stinger Detectors USA. It didn't take long for the package to arrive. It came from TURKEY and the distributer had it shipped from Orient Detectors from Turkey. When the package arrived in the US, I received a call from the transportation company saying the shipment has been placed on hold until it is paid for, the duties, taxes ,and other fees that wasn't part of the purchase agreement This caused a short delay which was no big deal once I was told and understand what was happening. I did a thorough inspection of the unit and upon completion I cam across some red flags that causes me concern that this might be a not what it is claimed to be. The red flags. I paid close to $4000.00 for this detector. The stems appeared to be made out of aluminum instead of carbon fiber which are common on high end machines. The coils skid guards appear to be cheap and flimsy if in fact they are skid guards The battery is hard wired which if I would have known this I would not have made the purchase. I do and still have some concerns that need to be addressed. I reached out to the company Stinger Detectors USA. I could not find a business address nor a phone number. I sent an e mail and attempted to call Metal Detectors Pro . It appears that they are refusing to call me back as of this date after leaving multiple e mails and calls. This is not good especially since I invested almost $4000 for this machine. I should have done my homework first before my purchase and encourage everyone out there to do theirs before making a large purchase, Anyone have experiences with this detector, please reach out to me. I also filled out Stinger detectors contact page and never hared from the either. Your feedback is most welcome. Thanks.

What made you think this was “the very best money could buy”? You may be the first US customer. I don’t see a single in the field review of this detector or brand. Only videos made by the folks promoting it.

Hopefully you paid 100% with a credit card and not a wire transfer or something?

Smart Technologies Detector? Did they misspell Technologies or is that how they spell it in Turkey I wonder.

Off the top of my head... Turkey sort of says it all for me! However, you have some satisfaction in that you have it in your possession. If that is correct, try it! If it works to your satisfaction, then tell us about it.

A little more info. http://pissedconsumer.com has one comment reflecting your no answer/no email issue. Metal Detectors Pro wasn't any help, as I got a reorder (rapid busy) when I called. Again, not a good sign. The folks at Kellyco.com have apparently heard of the brand, but refused to say any more. This too speaks volumes.

I'm even leery of those from China, Korea, France, and Sweden. Guldstrom is in Sweden, and there they have good ratings, but I still wouldn't buy one. The MineLab units have a good following, and are decent detectors, albeit I've never owned on. I've used one a couple of times, and it wasn't any better than my Garrett Apex. My Vortex9 properly set up, is at least equal to any of the others which are often used by T-Net users. But I still wouldn't own a foreign made one. In fact, I prefer to buy American, and to me that is Garrett.

Lastly, I'm sorry you've had a bad experience getting back in the hobby. Hopefully, you'll come out of this wiser and richer!
