I almost didn’t go today after work because I only had an hour before dark. After holiday traffic and forgetting my earphones at the truck, I had 40 minutes...

I’ve taken lots of friends to this site and have pounded it thoroughly. Through time we’ve found British, State, and large US coppers, as well as US silver dating to the 1830’s. The early back-to-back snowfalls had flattened the dead weeds and conditions here were ideal. I’m a small section I managed a couple buttons and a chape frag, and this Spanish 1 reale.

Happy Winter Solstice everyone!! The sun is currently 23 degrees 20 degrees south of the equator but its heading north. The days will be getting longer from now on...

But the cold continues. Good hunts

Scrappy, it's always about the effort and the love of our hobby that keeps us looking for ?
Thank you Tm

THat's a easy one to remember what day you got it, congrats on the silver. Merry solstice Scrappy may the digging out on the other side of the cold darkness feel short.

Hopefully this will be a relatively mild winter. Although there is a burden lifted when you know you can’t go hunt...it’s getting done everything you’re supposed to get done. Lol

Just curious, was the backhoe strategy in play or was she hiding in the deep bramble? Beautiful detail on that one Steve. I have been knocking on doors of even more farms keep getting the answer no. I can't seem to find a hot spot on one of my permissions and there are thousands of acres at this farm with the date of 1770 in the brick work! Time seems to elude me, I'm much more diversified this year with my hobby's. I got close to my Capped bust silver but someone beat me to the punch again. I'm thinking I'll see ya in the next thaw?

I actually thought of you boys up north during my short hunt today. I went here not expecting much, but I said to myself that I’d better enjoy this because those fellas up north are SOL, and I will be soon, too. Hang in Anton, soon enough spring will be here and you’ll be making everyone nauseous again with your unbelievable finds.

Thanks man, I sure hope so. Trying to keep myself ready for the spring by ''hunting'' for my car in the snowbanks after work and shoveling as much snow as I can from my driveway :laughing7: But it's actually a good thing in the way to have a break as I can research and map some new spots for the next year. Also, reading Bill Dancy's new book and for me it's an eye-opener.

Nice looking Spanish silver. I can deal with the cold, I'm just glad the days are starting to get longer again.

Well Scrappy
If you have to dig in the cold it might as well be a Spanish Silver Good for ya !

Absolutely awesome! That's one beauty of a coin, great detail. You guys pluck them out of the ground like potatoes...but, i know the secret-location, location, location. Congrats on the great save, Scrap. Enjoy..Ddf.

Well this potato was a tough one to pick. I had to destroy and move an entire tree laying on the ground. Haha

I really like that Christmas ornament
Great Spanish too....Congrats!

Oh that old thing... lol.

So when I popped that coin, I put in my pocket and did’t see a hanging hole until I cleaned it later. It’s going on da tree next to the Pats ornament bro!

Nice. You seem to find a lot of the later Charles IV and Ferdinand reales. Wonder which variety of the milled bust reales are the rarest. Seems like Charles III variety is most common find on TNet

Very nice hunt, congratulations! :occasion14:

Great hunt:thumbsup:Love the Spanish:headbang: I’m glad you can still get out,we’re getting another 6 inches today:censored:

That will warm you up quickly! Great job buddy taking advantage of the condition change

Nothing wrong with that congrats

I did the “wrecking ball” technique on this one. There was a downed tree and broken branches everywhere. I broke the limbs and moved the trunk a bit. So it was deep in the Bramble in other words.

Seems like the only time I find stuff lately is when I have no expectations Gary. As for the cold, it hasn’t been too bad lately here after a couple of snows and a freeze. I have a feeling the door is going to slam shut after the new year.
