well Murphy's law finally kicked in. for a week we knew this storm was coming. I had been on my brother's case for over a month to get our snowblower fixed for winter but he procrastinated and since he had my mom's truck I couldn't take it in myself. So I had to drive home last night and it was not pleasant but I have driven in worse. Finally got home and it wasn't the road that got me. It was our 100 ft long driveway. My mom won't/can't snowblow the driveway and I work full shifts so by the time I get home its blown shut. definitely thinking about finding someone to come out and pay them to snowblow our driveway. No snowplow because those tear everything up to mess and my car is parked in the middle of the driveway. it's a repeat of last year's March super storm but at least this time we have power this time. and I just got back from a week and a half vacation and now I have no vacation time to use while I am stuck at home. ::sighs:: this stinks uber big.
On the good side I was able to get to town on vacation and got 3 boxes of nickels. all I got was one 1923-5 buffalo nickel. So I cashed in 100 dollars and went to a local coin shop. with silver at 31 dollars I bought 2 oz bar silver, 2-halves and 3 quarters for about 101 dollars. then silver fell the next day to 29 dollars for a few hours :;bangs head on table:; man! if I had only waited one more day. But at least I got some silver. I was thinking about saving my nickels till I had a large amount and in the spring I would cash them in. I have a handcart and can load canisters of coinage into milk crates. Still throwing the idea around.
Oh! sidenote - when did they start naming winter storms? Winter storm Draco? what was last march's uber storm called? I have only been calling it the storm of the century.
Hugs, smiles and safe travel to anyone out in this junk,
