H i guys....

January thaw ---- whoooohoooooooooooooo...............went from -20 to +10 in just a few days.....temps dropping again tomo... so back into hybernation again.

These are my finds from a couple hunts......

Couple 1800,s coins.... a Newfoundland 1 cent and a 1832 Nova Scotia half penny token in nice shape.

The whistle is very nice and has a high pitch ..works great.

Musket balls were plentiful along with a couple modern bullets and a long old bullet.

Also a couple WHAT IS IT items...if you have any ideas let me know.

the long brass object with the "flap" on it is a organ reed.

Nice finds! Gold star for going out in the "warm" weather +20!
We had a heat wave 36 and snow! Zip bagged the detector and collected my clad!
I wish the polar vortex would stop visiting, have to hibernate with an electric blanket!
GL. HH. Stay warm!

Is so nice to be able to get out after the long cold snap......looks like back into the deep freeze again tomo.

Electric blanket sounds good !!!!

I believe your whistle to be a dog whistle. I found one just like that years ago.

Picture 10 looks like part of a pulley. Picture 15 possibly a bell?

I believe that the 7th pic from the bottom may have been a hand held magnifying glass. i have a similar one i found in which the glass piece slid out from below the two metal pieces

Very nice finds. Your a trooper for the +10 degrees, you must have explosives for a digging tool. Lol

Thanks for sharing and HH.

the toy car is either a 240/60/80z datsun neat

The big iron piece could be a wall mount for a bracket lamp.......

Great finds, I love the whistle. I'm headed for a deep freeze too, Supposed to be 5 inches of snow coming, I'm getting ready to put on my long johns and go hunt for awhile. I really don't like the cold, but can't find anything on the couch.

Good stuff. That whistle is very cool. Glad ya got out before the temps drop again.

This time of year you have to get out when you can. Looks like it paid off for you.

ty...

the whistle is early 1800,s military issue..... a sweet find i think !!!!! Fits with the age of the house which is about 200 years old.

Now it,s -12 this morning and i,m wanting to go detecting ..... lol....how sick is that !!!!! The winters are too long.

Don,t think i,ve ever had this much fun doing a hobby !!!!!!!!

Yup---think you are correct on that 1...I got it in vinegar ......should clean up nicely.

Some nice finds for sure, love the whistle. I wish I could have got out as well but had too many other things on the go. Sure was nice to have that warm weather for a while but I do believe it's back to winter now.
