Our first topic for the day are wishes that come true. I'm pretty certain that most people wish for something at some point. Whether it is big, or small, it's something you want.

Well recently i made the following 3 wishes

1- Not to work weekends.

This wish was granted about two weeks ago, after working just over a year and never seeing a weekend. It's tough enough to work at night, but with no weekends, well there is little social life

2- More money

Yeah, I know that's pretty high on everyone's list. A few extra bucks to spend is a nice thing. Well it happened one night as I was at a mall with a raised wishing well. As I looked up at it, I said to myself, "Boy, I wish there were money in there. There was, and I took it :laughing7:

3- Can't tell, otherwise it won't happen
:tongue3:

Spart,

LOL....You're on a roll.....sometimes I wish I was on another planet.....but when I drop in here.....I realize I already am on another planet.....or at least another dimension.

Well I can tell you for certain that the wish wasn't to have this thread moved to the nonsense forum. :laughing7:

I guess that wishing for improvement in your life and getting it is a silly thing to wish for. :icon_scratch:

Especially when you could be wishing to own an automatic weapon with a 100 round drum clip :laughing7:

I wished my ex wife would move to another city and it happened. Now I'm wishing she'd move to the west coast, I live on the east coast. I'll keep you posted.

This past thanksgiving I made a wish and guess what, I got the long of the turkey bone. Can't tell, you know that. Frank

Next you be wishing for the 'big one' to hit california

Well Spartacus, I'm wishing too. Wish that I didn't have to live from paycheck to paycheck, and that I could get ahead on some bills (not bill from lachine), but money due to creditors. Well, there's just a few other things, but that's another story.

old digger,

Not hard to get ahead of me.....just sneak by when I'm not looking......good luck on your other wishes btw....

Old digger, I see you have it too. Although many of my posts have a tad bit of humor in them at times they appear to some to be just nonsense, which is far from the case.I had gone 3 years without a paycheck, currently make very little, but that's life. No big deal, but it's no fun either.

There is also another post thrown here because again it was perceived to be a joke and yet the job market is in worse condition than it has been in decades.

Nonsense? I think not, just simple wishes to improve ones lifestyle

You see, I'm hoping the beauty of my threads is that they go where you want to take them.

With this economy and the way things are heading, I just cannot see the hurt in the ''Wishing Factor''. Thanks Spartacus, for at least some of us can achieve some resprite.

old digger, although it was a wish, it was dedication and hard work that finally got me the weekends off. Well almost that is :laughing7:

My current job is supposed to be a 4 day, hour work week, but most nights average between 11-13 hours. I'm still pulling a 5 day workweek with these insane hours. After a little quick math I'm proud to say I'm working twice as long as I did in 2008 and earning about 25% of my normal salary. Sad as it sounds, it's still better than many out there, and I do count my blessing's.

Also note, it took me this full year to catch up with all my bills too, but sacrificing in every area I could, including food, I did it. Stayed on a steady diet of oatmeal, pasta, and rice for nearly 1 1/2 years. The good part is my health improved overall, including a significant drop in cholesterol and weight loss.

To look back at the good days is not an option, just look forward and remember the immortal words of Ralph Kramden. I had it, and went with it :laughing7:
