Woody's video referring to human exposure to RF from the GPZ 8000;

From the power available at the power source, the battery having a capacity of 47 watt-hours, the power output is 47/10 hours - 4.7 watt-hours. I found what the International safe limits are for RF exposure at:


From the document, the safe limit is 4 watts per kg. A 150 pound (68 kg) person can safely absorb up to 272 watts. 272 watts / 5 watts = 58 (fifty eight) GPZ 8000's and the person absorbing all of the RF energy!

You probably mean 4.7 watts. That's the power consumption, not the power transmitted. In metal detectors the transmit power is typically close to zero because they don't work with radiowaves, the electric field is intentionally suppressed. So practically all of that 4.7 watts is dissipated as heat from the circuitry.
