Today we were cleaning up at a fire job.
I asked the property owner if we should
look for anything that may have gone missing
during the fire. He didn't want to even
see anything we found. He said we could keep
whatever we wanted.............

Let's start with this cute little silver toe ring that
my youngest absconded immediately.

Here are all of the "finders keepers".

Now a nice "little 18k ring with 12 amethysts and 6 diamonds.

And end the tour with this BEAUTIFUL gold and Diamond
Bracelet.

I wonder how much an hour I made today?!!! :icon_king: :icon_thumleft: :headbang: :headbang:

UPDATE!!!

At the fire today I found a french wall clock hanging in a
completely burned out room with no roof left.
I was so excited, and the property owner was in the
driveway so I took it down to them. There was NO
smoke or fire damage to the clock at all. When the lady
saw it, she started crying and said that, "It used to be
such a beautiful clock. I can't stand to see it like that."
I told her that it was in good shape and that if she loved
it that much, it could be restored. The gentleman said
that if I liked it, I could keep it........... ??? :o :tard:........
I didn't know what to say............thanks??? Here are some
photos of the fire and the clock.

Re: Work finds that will surprise you!!!

what a good day at work! Is my eyes fooling me or are those amethysts really rubys. that would be even sweeter. Anyway, great treasures and great pics

Re: Work finds that will surprise you!!!

Not real sure about it but if insurance company paid off wouldn't the property belong to them and not the owner....might want to not post too many finds.

I KNOW how lucky I am! I wish every Tnetter got
an opportunity like this to do a little "Urban Treasure
Hunting"!
And to answer your question, RickyP, those cute little
toes are my daughters. There is not enough virtual
paint to make my feet look that good!!! LOL :icon_jokercolor:

well yes the insurance company paid out on the claim---so sssshhhh not too loud -- or they may come a knocking --- but by and large insurance companies are lazy & cheap butt holes -- their not going to sending anyone to "recover" or look thru anything , they simply cut a check and call it a day (thats their way) --- the home owners were tramatized by the fire and their former "belongings" just remind them of the "horror" of it all ---and of their "loss" --- so they can''t stand the sight of the stuff-- plus the home owners fear that if they recover anything from the home that the nasty ole insurance company will say they defrauded them. --- so --its a case of being at the right place at the right time ----seems your in the cat birds seat one on this one. Well said!!!

That is a great idea to hunt that type of place. Never thought of a burnt down site before.

The metal detecting part will come after ALL of the mess is
cleaned up good, until then, it's all eyeball finds and a lot
of mess!!!

The motto of treasure hunters is simple.
If there might be something there worth finding,
LOOK for it!
One of my hunting buddies found a platinum ring
with a half carat diamond on the floor at a discount
store.
Always look for treasures!
