I don't have any experience with anything other than my at pro. But I do have to say I absolutely love it. And for the price, you can't beat it. In my opinion. Bit u know what they say about opinions....

that sucks i bet ya wont leave one laying around now. like my dad always told me when i was a kid put things up when your done with them that way you'll have them next time ya need them

Your hunch is right, I've used a few different machines over the years, the at series is the best bang for the buck by a long way, some will say the id meter is inaccurate, well guess what? They all are at some point, you should be listening to your machine 'after' you know how to use it and have set it properly, the meter is just fluff, it is there to display an approximate level of target conductivity, say a copper rivet at 7 inches it didn't say coin it said 80 and was faint...etc

I hope I get lucky with our insurance. And they will cover it. Yeah for sure cant leave anything laying around. Gunna be sure to lock it up in the gun case from now on. You live and learn I guess

i dont blame ya there be nice if the insurance would cover it

Well if you get a new one you can use it to find all the pieces of your old one...

That's a great idea as it costs as much as a nice gun would, never thought about it that way

Well good news. Insurance is going to cover it and my local dealer has one in stock. Hopefully the insurance works fast so I can get back to swinging.

I'd have those kids go in the woods and cut a switch........if they're old enough to know better, that is.

Good Luck.

Yeah didn't sound like to bad of an idea at the time. But all is well. I shouldn't have left it out.

dude i feel bad for u. I'd rather get kicked in the n****

I've had this idea for a stealth detector and you might be able to build it. Mount the coil in a shoe, and run headphones wired or wireless. Then just walk around places where detecting is off limits and drop colored golf tees where you get good audio hits. go back with a propointer and small tool and check the areas casually later, maybe cut a hole in a picnic basket and do the digging from within the cover of that basket. Maybe figure out a way to interface an iphone as a display.

Has anyone ever attempted anything like this?

Well as happy as I am that my detector is being replaced I still can't help but to be impatient with the insurance company. I wanna dig!

Just go hardcore and use only your pinpointer and digging tool...

Send it to Garrett and see if they will replace it........ I would......

Well it started out amazing. A guy stopped by to have some welding done. Come to find out he owns a lot of property with old houses on it. He drove me around and showed me all these places I could detect.... Then I come home to this... My AT PRO is now dead.

What the heck happened ?? Looks like it went thru a wood chipper ...!!??
