WORTH THE MONEY?Sun Ray invader XL-1 Target Probe . PLEASE REPLY

I dunno about using them on Whites, but the sunray probes on the Explorers, are indispensible. So I would assume they would be the same for other brands/makes.

IM THINKING ABOUT ADDING A Sun Ray invader XL-1 Target Probe ON MY WHITES XLT. IS IT WORTH THE MONEY?

I have a Sunray DX-1 on my MXT and it is the best for coins and relics bar none. However, for small gold nuggets, it just did not work well.

I used to have a Sun Ray when I had an MXT. Excellent pinpointer. Don't know about the XLT but, with the MXT I could click the trigger a couple of times while in pinpointing mode and detune the probe so that it was only hot near the tip. Really helped in finding coins as the probe only went off when right on the coin instead of just in the hole. I mounted mine on the detector box itself, helped with the balance.

thanks for the info

Homer...get it!

I have an XLT, and the XL-1 has been a great addition. It adds a bit of weight, but you'll get used to it, but it has saved me from nicking some nice buttons. Happy hunting. BTW, I have an older white one, they now come in black....I think the black looks better, but what do looks have to do with anything. My buddy uses a Nautilus DMC and it looks like crap, but he outdigs us all. ;D

I have been metal detecting for a year now and Have had the Sun Ray Invader XL-1 probe attatched to my SE for awhile. In my opinion if you are looking for faster recovery time go with Garrets newest Pinpointer that they have out. My buddy JuJu and I hunt frequently and he uses one of the Garrets and he gets targets out of the hole a lot Faster then I do. It seems to take me 1-3 minutes just to recover a coin. The Sunray Pinpointer hits the objects from all sides, and it doesn't hit it from directly where it should be. In my opinion go for the Garrets pro pinpointer, i think its called and you will be a lot happier. You do not need to spend $200 on a fancy one.

I don't know about the XL-1 but I have the Sunray S-1 on my Sov GT and it works fantastic. Just like a tiny 1" coil with 4" in depth. When you get into a coin spill the probe finds them all without digging up the whole lawn.

I have one on my dfx, never have to go back looking for my hand held probe I left at the last hole I dug. To me it is worth the investment. Dirtsurfer
