Would like help with info about Tea Set

I don't know if this is the place to ask, but does anyone know anything about old Japanese Teas Sets? I inherited this set from my Grandmother and it was given to her by her brother-in-law. He was a Merchant Marine and had travelled to Japan way back when. It is really a beautiful set and the most striking thing about it is the Geisha image in the bottoms of the cups. When you hold it up to the light, the image appears. Looking straight down into the cup, it is not so visible. Kind of like a reverse image. I would just like to know anything about it.

sorry, iv'e just been told by my missus its my grandmother who has them! the same set
