I dug this yesterday in our British camp here in the Upstate of SC...yes, upstate South Carolina...

1666 Rich Fellows In, Dorchester RFS Farthing!!!

OK, checked the British Museum records and it is indeed 1666, the book on these is incorrect, unless there were 2 issue dates??

Just matter of fact as always, in this case the books wrong, it happens, that's why I warn on some book references.

"Richard Fellows: His farthing dated 1666 carried the image of 'Three sugar loaves' and the inscription 'RICH FELLOWS IN' on one side and 'R S F DORCHESTER 1666 R S F' on the other"

Best using the British Museum collection in future, that's not such a reliable source but as it happens it more reliable than the book in this case.

Hello and congratulations on a historic find , what a day hu ting it goes to show you can find just about anything ,just about anywhere ! I can't recall ever seeing one posted truly a unique find and banner worthy for sure I'll got on that !!
