This has been one amazing jewelry year for me and it continues, I know this will bring on the naysayers and jealous green eyed monsters and I’ll probably get reported to the fake post forum.
But I don’t care.... this find is amazing I just got back from the jeweler/ appraiser
the ring is platinum 950, with 1.64 carats TW white diamonds, surrounding a 2.63 carats 8.6 mm x 6.2 mm oval Pink Diamond. Victorian era between 1885-1905 era made. For a total carat weight of 4.27.
I know people are gonna ask what it’s worth...to me it’s worth 10 million dollars :) and if you want to buy it from me that’s the price! :)
it was 4 inches deep in the remnants of an old park.. the VDI on my Whites DFX was horrible 12-13 but I dug it anyway.
Happy hunting everyone!

You have found some really interesting finds over the years! Glad to see you still swinging. I don’t get out so much, it’s winter but we haven’t had any snow. HH
Thanks Mike, I never stopped detecting just didn’t post very often... the last 2 years I didn’t find much at all, the last 3 months have been crazy .. I hope it continues. I decided to post again... see how it goes ... it’s good to hear from you!

Drooling, just quietly drooling over that lovely ring - with a tear running down my face wishing I was the one to unearth this. Wow!

Many congrats! And stick that in a safety deposit box!
thank you ! Hehe yep very secured at the moment!

Damn, that's beautiful. Wish I could find one...
You will! Just keep getting out there and dig the shitty signals ... every piece of foil and can slaw leads you closer to treasure!

Honestly, the finds you have shared this year have all been unbelievable. Just add this one to the list.
Love the old jewelry, especially the rose diamond.
thank you I haven’t posted more than half my finds in the last 3 months... it’s been pretty crazy... the last 2 years I did not find much... this has sure made up for it!

So what did the appraisal come in at? $4k?
I don’t put values out there ever. Appraised much higher than I dreamed possible ... like I said in the post it’s worth 10 million dollars ... because that’s what It will take for me to sell it :)

Wow that is one sweet ring find. Congrats.

Absolutely wonderful find!
I'm not a hater, just a fellow with a lifelong involvement in the design and manufacture of jewelry.
Studying your pictures a couple of things pop out:
The diamonds are all modern brilliant cut
The ring is a one piece casting
The setting style is contemporary
Not a Victorian item.
It's value is substantial in any case, primarily due to the incredible rarity of pink diamonds (natural vs irradiated)
Follow up with another appraiser
Again, congratulations on your fabulous find.

Thank you very much for replying...when you say modern do you mean 1920’ a or 1990’s? I’m no jewelry expert at all... can only go by what im told.. when I brought it to jeweler I thought the white diamonds were real ..,but I called the pink one rosey Quartz and he laughed... took the wand he had and said it’s a diamond lmao. What would be your estimate of its potential value? Thanks

What an epic find. Congrats that’s one you keep for a lifetime. HH

I only have 8 million.

Now that is an amazing find with lots of ice. A big congrats.

Modern or not, I still wish I dug it! :)

IMHO the main value will be in the center stone - reading up on Pink Diamonds, starting in the 90's the pink diamond became popular for engagement rings, so the industry started to irradiate for the color.

My thought is for you to have this properly tested - if lab colored, you still have a big diamond, worth will depend on the 4 C's = Color, Cut, Clarity, Carets

If natural, you may need to sit down also depending on the 4 C's

Again, Awesome find!

Molewhacker is correct regarding the pink diamonds. My best estimate of age is within the last 30 years.
Look for an AGS (American Gem Society) jeweler or a GIA (Gemological Institute of America) trained appraiser.
Any carat + diamond has substantial value.
Let us know what you find out.

Jealousy is the devil in disguise! This type of find is out there, otherwise, we all wouldn't be out there looking for it! Thanks for re-affirming! And CONGRATULATIONS on probably the find of a lifetime. Now, if you did sell it, that would buy you one sweet new detector!! :occasion14::notworthy::wav:
