well what does the back look like? It could be to a belt, a ring, a pendant, etc. Nice find! Usually real diamonds are in white gold, gold, etc. but there's always exceptions.

Off the top of my head, and from the picture, I would say they are not real--because the quality of workmanship does not fit with an expensive piece of jewelery.
