I dug 2 from the wooded area next to an 1800's school 2 years ago---they were a bit nasty. this was a nice surprise after cleaning off the 100 years of sand :--)

Congrats, any coin dug that is over 100 years old is a good find. That 1909 has some detail and looks better than many newer memorials that I have dug.

since the parcel is mostly hunted now, it is part of a 2000 acre 1686 farm that is now growing youts, thugs, urchins and honor students---yup--- a school. some parts have over a foot of fill, then a 3 inch hole yields virgin dirt. 2 century old farm stuff at 4", 40 year old jewelry at 15", the 1812 LC at 10", but a '42 Merc at 3 inches. GO FIGGER. the '09 Wheat was given a light baking soda rub to clean the bound sand and no corrosion from the mild soil.
