Yes 'Deer' (thanks TWitko)

TWitko's post on the deer print point reminded me a picture I have. It's a ~3" early archaic corner notch (Stillwell, some will say Pinetree) made from a light green hornstone. Nicely serrated and beveled, ground base and no damage on it at all. It was found on a multi-component site on a particular 50 foot stretch that routinely produces 4" Adena's. As you can see in the photo there's a deer print directly in front of of the point and from the way I found it, it looks to me that the point was laying flat either on, or right under the surface and the deer drive the tip down and the base up. Either way, I spent a good deal of time explaining to my hunting buddy how only an experienced, adept, observant and expert artifact hunter such as myself could make such an astute find. He told me to go %^*$ myself :-) It's my second favorite in-situ picture and a top-20 all-time find for me.

Enjoy.

Joe

Yeah twitch, that's why we plant a big garden way at the the south side of the site we hunt. - So the deer have to walk all the way across the field to get their share. :laughing7: (I'm an expert tracker too.):laughing7::laughing7:
