That's some mighty pretty country...

Cool photo's! Looks like there is a little bit of a grade coming up through that pass?

Yeah, It is fairly steep, but doesn't go very far before leveling out.

I pulled over here a couple of weeks ago thinking about taking a picture but didn't. There was I guy parked there in a large pickup with a loaded flatbed trailer. I didn't realize he was broke down, and he thought I was stopping to help him. I didn't tell him any different, and gave him a ride to Green River, UT.

Love Utah, it is my favorite state. It has an amazing number of National Parks within a 300 mile radius..
Arches, Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Canyon Lands......

Beautiful sky's, wonderful colors - very nice shots! and get those road figured out ther eastbound driver. I think your headin in to Green River. I've seen a couple of run-a-ways over the years on that hill ahead of ya. Freight was scattered all over the side of the road.

Nice photograph! Thanks for sharing...

Gorgeous pics Ron, as always. I love that country
down there...were you off of 191, or right off of I-70?

Also, is that your truck with the covered wagon behind it?
Can't tell for sure, but it looks like a new Volvo...if so, you're
driving a Cadillac! (always wanted one..lol)

Really lovely shots and awesome place....Dino land! :)

Good for you! :notworthy:

Great pictures, Ron. Very beautiful, rugged country. I've been through Utah a few times, but never saw this area. If I ever get back through, I'll be sure to see these places! Thanks for the views!

Thanks Mike, It's a company truck that I live in. Not really by choice just don't know what else to do.:dontknow: It is new, but it's a T680 Kenworth which does make the life easier.

I hear ya Ron. A company cars go, that T680 is one sweet ride.
It's definitely got that Volvo look though, so it must be a damn
efficient cab design.

Some days I miss the hell outta being out there. Most folks
don't realize that, for drivers, the fun is in the driving; it's the
rest of the BS ya gotta tolerate can really make life miserable.

Good equipment, decent loads and pay, and maybe even a
company that actually gives a crap about it's drivers is about
all ya can hope for.

Haven't been in the seat in almost 14 years and I still get
that "gotta go" feeling once in a while. I've was making
trips to So. Cal about every 6 months to prospect with
an old friend, but he passed away in May. Generally made
10 day trips, and it was a 3000 mile run by the time I got
back home. Long drive to make in my old '87 Toyota 4x4,
but 3k a week is about the average for most OTR drivers.
Less than that and you're not making much.

btw ron, what kind of things does that lady sell at the rest stop? Just curious, Indian things for the tourists?

I should have taken a picture of the goods they offer. This lady was not the only one. They have all kinds of Indian goods, including silver & turquoise jewelry, pottery, bows and arrows made in the authentic tradition, and other artwork. I didn't really look too hard at what they were selling. Might try to get a pic next time. They set up their selling stations at view points and rest areas in NM and AZ also.

I stopped by here again on Thursday. Only had a small amount of time. I wanted to
to get more closeup pics, but it started to rain and they began covering up their goods.

That's some great looking merchandise! Are the prices reasonable? Some of the jewelry looks fabulous.
