Yesterdays finds motorcycle & a dog

Even though I LOVE finding coins I guess I'm just a junk junkie !!!! I think its so relaxing , sometimes I just lay there in the grass and day dream and then the ants wake me up and tell me to get back to digging! So heres my junk finds for yesterday not anything much ,alot of (what the heck is it) lol The cross thingy does look sterling ,thats probably the best of the bunch. The Boston taxi token says reward if found lol spose its to late??
Thanks for looking hope you don't mind all the pics

Great finds! I agree with Hogge, the bike is worth a few bucks, clean carefully.

Sweet Site you're digging! I was looking forward to more posts from it & wasn't disappointed.

My vote is in for the dog. Enjoy the digging & I'm wishing for some good old coins coming your way with the next batch.

Vicki,

Those are some awesome finds...this is what I like to find. You really did great.

The marching band music sheet holder is called a lyre, I love that blow torch, the rooster, motorcycle, and everything else. It's not junk and it's not junque either...I called them treasures. Clean em up good & put in a display case. :icon_thumleft:

Hogge took the words out of mouth. You might even want to bring it to a professional to be looked at. Any motorcycle stuff is good stuff. Great stuff!

Nice finds Vickilynn!! Those are all neat finds but your motorcycle is a treasure. If restored properly it's a highly desirable piece. I'm pretty sure it's a Hubley..They made a lot of variations. Here's a pic of a Hubley delivery bike. It's not identical but very similar.Your motorcycle is cast iron so it should clean up nicely and replacement tires are available if it needs them. Cool!!

Re: Yesterdays finds motorcycle & a dog

I think all your finds are pretty neat. I would be going back to that site again. Hit more of the iffy
signals and listen for those deep signals. I bet there are some really good coins in the area. I really like the
motorcycle. On EBay, it could bring alot of money after you clean it up.

Re: Yesterdays finds motorcycle & a dog

Hey Vickie Lynn , Great bunch of old finds there ! The motorcycle is indeed a good find circa 1915- 1920

Like so many of the cast iron toys and banks of this period , the demand on the part of collectors is strong.

I would not be surprised if you were able to find comparables priced in the $ 300 to $500. range. I'm sure

that plenty of info. is available ,(google cast iron toys - early 20-th century) and related books. Congrats !!!

Gregory, Santa Fe.

It's all so shabby chic (as they say in my corner of the world). The blow torch is likely brass and copper and would shine up nice if so. Found a brass fire extinguisher and a Dutch Cleanser type product shined it fast and easy.
