I went hunting Saturday & found some stuff a couple slate hoes! A real nice hematite Celt & some points!

oHIo has the some of the best artifacts. Glad you recovered some of the nicer ones--especially, the slate hoes and celt. Everyone would like to see a cleaned up shot of them all.

This slate relic shows nice use wear.



Those slate relics exhibit the classic chipping pattern I have found on a lot of slate here in Indiana. Very nice.

Here in my area I find a large amount of glacial slate in the fields. The majority not worked. A field not far from my house is loaded with slate. Its hard to imagine that much slate in one area.

In the area where the chipped slate was found, was there many other pieces of slate also?

Were these two slate relics found in close proximity together?
