Yesterday's Hunt 9-19-23

Since the weather is better (cooler) my wife and I decided to visit some family in S.E. Alabama for a few days. I also got a chance to go to one of my permission sites. If I find anymore I'll post them here. The 1st one is 3 inches the 2nd is 2 7/8.

Dang Mike 2 center frame points! The 1st one looks like it might have stripes in it. Go get more. I am jealous on how big the points are in your area compared to what I find in my area.

My only guess might be material availability. Some of these areas I look are loaded with chert. A site that I used to have permission before it was sold had material as far as the eye could see; it was almost overwhelming.

I looked again this morning; no luck today (unfortunately).

#2 I'm calling a Savannah River. The 1st one most likely is one or a Pickwick (I'm terrible at typing them unless they're obvious). Either way both types are common at the site these came from as well as Abby and Elora .

Bolen Rocker base or Boggy Branch imo. But maybe someone else will know for sure. If I was to only find one I’d like it to be that one.

My 1st thought was a Boggy Branch type 2.

Nice point, resharpened a lot. Nothing jumps out at me but I'm not seeing anything Boggy Branch. Way too big of notches, base not right in my mind either. Actually BB's are considered a stemmed point. Could be a Bolen, remember those old boys making points back then weren't too worried about someone typing it a few thousand years later.

Slightly beveled. After seeing some of the pictures I'll go with Bolen. This would have been a beast 1st stage I'm sure. Thanks for the response Newnan; it made me look at the point a little more clearly 👍.

Here's a Boggy Branch I found in the same area a few years back. It's a little beat up but at least it's there. I usually find them broken.
