Here's more of the watch - After I paid the $10 she told me to wait because she had the original box in the house . She also brought me a bag to put everything in and a piece paper to wrap the kewpie .

Unreal mojjax - I will give you $20 for the watch (cash) right now!!! Thanks for sharing...

Great buys! That watch is sweet! The rifle strap looks very similar
to my .303 British sling. Don't know if it's exact or not.

You did real good mojjax. The Kewpie huggers alone will make you a nice profit on your $10, not to mention the watch. The GW miniature repro sold for $3.50 in 1917. A lot of money back then. I want to know when you list it, if you list it that is. Here is an ad from 1917- The Pittsburgh Press - Google News Archive Search

Nice finds. Any idea how much the watch will sell for?
Our local auction house has a free appraisal day next week . I mainly want to find out how much it would cost to get it fixed .

Wow that's alot of treasures for 10 bucks.. Nice work...

Great set of buys for $10. However, I should mention, the tooth test for pearls is considered not a reliable test for pearls. For decades, perhaps centuries, many different materials, from hard waxes to modern polymers, have been used as coatings to enhance the luster of pearls. All of which react and feel differently to the calcium carbonate in your teeth. I tend to avoid buying them generally. After a lot of research, I discovered that there are only two reliable ways to test for genuine pearls. One is to use a hammer and break one to see growth rings (kind of defeats the purpose). The other method requires the use of an X-ray. There are a number of good indicators one can use though. Look for uneven growth, very few natural pearls are perfectly round (neither are cheap plastic imitations). Pearls generally are quite heavy for their size, if you pick up a bracelet or necklace and it is light weight, probably imitation. Real pearls do not have an opaque coating, look for places where some kind of coating has been chipped off. Another good indicator is context. If the piece is mounted with real gold, or platinum, it's a good bet the pearls are genuine. Hope this helps in the future. Love all the rest of your buys though!
