WOW!!! It's been quite another day here at my backyard site. 3 more coins!!! First of the day was my dads 1945 Washington quarter. A nice silver!!! And then after that, it was mine. ;D Yet another first for me!!! An 1865 3 cent piece!!! Just wow is all we could say. There was a pause, then we shook hands. ;D ;D All of the things we have been finding are within a 5 foot radius! Oh, almost forgot, after that, my dad got a 1920 Buffalo nickel! Great day, well hour. Haha Thanks for looking.
Oh, and I included a pic of the 2 cent from yesterday!!!

You guys wouldn't happen to need any help there would you? I know how hard it can be to dig all day long & maybe a break for you might come in handy? ;D

We both already own detectors. Look back on my previous posts... HH

if the house has been there a long long time, you might be detecting where the clothes line used to be..

Great finds.

Actually, the neighborhood we live in, only came around in the 1930s. We are completely baffled by these finds. HH

Great job to you and your Dad!.......have you tried detecting this area yet or are you just sifting the dirt still?........

HH all!

Greg

Thanks. We have tried to detect here, but unfortunately, there is too much iron in the ground. Also, the things we are finding are 12 inches or deeper!!! So as you can tell, detecting, and getting the stuff we are finding, might be fairly difficult... HH

That's so sweet. That's the kind of hunting we do at the berg in certain areas. It works great. But sometimes you go an hour or more without finding much. So it sounds like your situation is pretty prime. Keep doing that stuff...and maybe there are other areas in your yard that might be worth trying too?

Nice finds man

Those 3 cent nickles are super hard to find. Got my first one earlier this yr. They are hard to come by.

HH Jer

Congrats! I'd like to find a 3 cent some day!

Thanks guys! Can't wait to see what else may come out also!!!!! :headbang:

Did pretty well again on Saturday. Got a Mercury dime and a silver Roosevelt dime! Won't be long till the seateds pop out!!!

Thanks Allen. I never would have imagined ANYTHING this old here! HH.

Nice going! I am still looking for my first two center, and three centers. You have quite a yard.

You may want to work on your digging skills a bit. That III looks like it got a bit scratched during recovery.

Thanks Neil. I know it is scratched. But the way we are recovering these items, it' is bound to get them somewhat scratched. We are screening through all of the dirt. We are putting dirt into a iron mesh basket, then shaking it around in water to remove most of the dirt. Then we dump what's left on the screen and sort through it. HH.

WOW!!! Another great find.....on most everyone's wish list. Kid, how are you doing it?
(Now, tell us the truth. Your house is right behind the Smithsonian, isn't it? Right where they get rid of the
extras....you can tell us....we won't let on to anyone.) :tongue3: :laughing9: :laughing7:
Way to go guy. Keeps us old timers honest......and out looking.
