Hi all i went to a block, where the house was removed to another site.i was not there long .Got a fair pile of junk and shards,school issue medal 1887 i think??.Along the back of the block got a whisper from the deep .Took a while to dig down,when a large piece of clay moved out popped 20 inch Eastern Brown Snake.Don't laugh, this snake small yes but still the second most vemomous land snake.I only got a reasonable pic as it takes a bit time to get your cam to take pic when i left in a hurry. lol "I wonder what that snake was guarding" I don,t really care snake can have it.

Maybe he was guarding a treasure chest full of Aussie gold coins. . Glad your safe. Nice pics. He looks like a little itty bitty thing, not something you would think of as poisonous.

Sorry tin, didn't see the coin/token until after I posted. Looks like it was a token to celebrate a marriage. Just a guess. I've never seen any thing like it before, but that is the first thing that I thougt of. Nice find.

You make some neat finds, but I sure don't envy the number of poisonous snakes you have in your next of the woods. Heck, poisonous everything! Don't you all have that really deadly big nasty spider too ?

I would have been afraid to dig another hole for the rest of the day! With winter coming to your part of the world soon, at least snakes won't be a problem for a while.

I've always kinda wondered about that when diggin' "down under" . Jeezs, be careful tho', huh ?? Those things make a timber rattler(our venomous snake) bite look like kissin' yer mommy. Did you kill it ?? I hope not, snakes are cool, and they eat mice, hint, hint...

The only good snake is a dead snake (not potitically correct) but there are plenty of non killer snakes to eat mice. kil it take its treasure and eat it and laugh! Mike
