This was someone's sick joke.
I was out in the cool woods relic hunting due to the intense heat of the sun and finding the aluminum plate that was deep. Looks like at one time had it nailed to a tree. Possibly a trail marker. And the usual slugs, Union brand 22 cal shells and headstamps when I ran my coil across this slamming high tone about 6" deep.
I pulled out 8 quarters. I knew they weren't silver and I wasn't going to post a quarter clad spill but when I cleaned them off I about cried.
ALL 8 of them were 19 FREEKIN 65! Are your kidding?
I did manage an old bicycle reflector at the road near my car though. That stopped the tears.

Did I say all 8 were 1965? Unbelievable.

Happens to me all the time. I actually go hunting for clad and memorials using reverse psychology to find silver, doesn’t work well

Too bad they’re not pre ‘64 like everyone says! Someone tell me what’s wrong with the ‘64’s?
