You might not believe this Today's find.

UPDATE: New pics.

I was too blamed busy to go for a "walk" today. Too much life in the way.
But while I was out going from store to store, I was keeping my eyes open, (as always).

It had turned to night and I was OMWBTTC. LOL When I happened to catch that special
sort of sparkle I'm always on the watch for....

2016 (91).jpg
2016 (90).jpg
2016 (92).jpg

Silver, with some sort of stones.
That black stuff on the back isn't tarnish, it's tar! LOL
I had to take a screwdriver to pry this up out of the asphalt! LOL

2016 (93).jpg
I knew I was working on a new technique but, REALLY!?!? LOLOL
The penny is for size reference, but I found that too.

2016 (94).jpg

This was from last hunt, just thought I'd show the detail of it.
Unfortunately, my camera isn't up to the task. It's the "Lord's Prayer"

Thanks for peeking!

Nice score on the bling for blingie, I love the smashed penny with the Lords Prayer on it. When I first started detecting I had my son doing it with me and he dug one. One of my all time favorite finds!
I could post a pic of it, I think i still have a pic of it somewhere?

Digging in asphalt is hard, I have done that too, found a 1899 Barber Dime like that, lol

Nice score gary, a little wd40 or even small amount of brake cleaner should get that tar off then u can use baking soda to get the wd40 off

It does pay to keep an eye out. I found the very first silver trime I ever saw that way. Nice way to keep the interest alive.

I applaud your effort to pry that silver from the "tar depths", but I really like the elongated penny.

Very cool,, I've often thought about prying coins out of the asplalt, but up here in NYC, it's a good way to get hit by a car. Lol
Congrats on your finds

Thanks for the comments folks! Ya see? The finding doesn't *have* to stop just cuz the weather turns sour. There are always coinstars, parking lots, etc.

But, BTB, *this* particular find just got a little more interesting. My diamond tester screamed diamond on the 3 lil stones. (I know that certain CZ's can fool a tester.) It's still being cleaned, so, stay tuned. :)

But there was no corn in that parking lot, was there? :what:

Excellent pry find! Congrats!
Silver & diamonds awesome!
Good thing you had a screw driver with you!

Now we all need to wear our gear while shopping! Boy if we didn't get stares before we will now!

Blingie won't have to worry about attaching that one to himself, he can just stuck it on!

Nice pendant!(?), good thing it was able to burrow into the asphalt, otherwise it would be road kill.

You have attained a certain skills level for sure!

I always have a screwdriver in the car. No trust! LOL
As far as stares? I waited until the cars moved out and then just popped it out! No one the wiser, so, you're safe. ;)

The tools I have in the truck would earn me "extra" charges if I'm ever arrested...or a part in a B horror movie! :D

"Curiouser and curiouser..." LOL

Here is the pin/earring/brooch cleaned up.
2016 (95).jpg
2016 (96).jpg

You can see there are three stones left near the bottom, 2 missing.
As I said, they test as diamonds.

2016 (98).jpg

But here's the kicker, there are 4 lil black stones on the other branch.
AND...they also test as diamonds!! :)

2016 (97).jpg

All the mountings are open in the back.

I'm pretty positive this is silver but would you
believe this tiny lil thing weighs 2.5 grams!? :icon_scratch:

In any case, a VERY interesting turn of events. :) I didn't even know there were black diamonds! LOLOL

If it's heavier and it's not marked, it maybe white gold.
So you have black & white diamonds! Nice! :)
Those little suckers also come in yellow and blue. :D

Those tools...chain saw, axe, and screwdriver. :D
