You might not believe this Today's find.

UPDATE: New pics.

I was too blamed busy to go for a "walk" today. Too much life in the way.
But while I was out going from store to store, I was keeping my eyes open, (as always).

It had turned to night and I was OMWBTTC. LOL When I happened to catch that special
sort of sparkle I'm always on the watch for....

Silver, with some sort of stones.
That black stuff on the back isn't tarnish, it's tar! LOL
I had to take a screwdriver to pry this up out of the asphalt! LOL

2016 (93).jpg
I knew I was working on a new technique but, REALLY!?!? LOLOL
The penny is for size reference, but I found that too.

2016 (94).jpg

This was from last hunt, just thought I'd show the detail of it.
Unfortunately, my camera isn't up to the task. It's the "Lord's Prayer"

Thanks for peeking!

How'd ya get the tar off?
Combination of things. Mostly WD40. But, also, used some Dawn, toothpicks & ultra sound and a bit of brushing.

Must've been made pretty good! To be schmooshed into the tar, probably driven over for months, and it still has all but 2 stones! LOL

Kind of reminds me of a musical staff symbol.

Way to kick Asphalt, Whadi! I always scan the parking lots when walking to and fro, and have, on more that one occasion, found jewelry on the pavement at gas pumps. (Folks must be very physical getting in and out of their cars!) Happy hunting, stay out of that blizzard. Sub 8-)

If it's heavier and it's not marked, it maybe white gold.
So you have black & white diamonds! Nice! :)
Those little suckers also come in yellow and blue. :D

Those tools...chain saw, axe, and screwdriver. :D

MSBB, nothing wrong with those tools. Now that being said, duct tape, hay hooks, vice grips, zip ties and a clown mask will raise suspicions...

Thanks!
I'm the same way, but I have been watching the ground for just about ALL of my life! I mean, I constantly had to explain to my parents where my money was coming from! LOL If it is possible to be a born metal detectorist, I do believe that's me! :)
Or at least, i do seem to have a REALLY strange knack for finding things! :)

We may all have had the habit of scanning the ground looking for things that interested us as kids. I was always looking for interesting rocks, I still do that today even when I detect I will bring home interesting rocks.

.....there maybe some duct tape...and zip ties...:D

Great catch on that one.

Since I started rock hounding a few years ago and then metal detecting I learned something very important.
The overwhelming majority of people RARELY look down; or up for that matter. Obviously, you do as do I.

It's amazing what you can find by simply being aware of what's at your feet. Congrats on being rewarded for your awareness.
