the larger of the 2 is about 1.5 inches at the top and 1.1/4 at the bottom , the smaller of the 2 is aprox 1.5 inches straight threw.

I'm thinking bumper washer for a disc harrow. Most have square holes but a few older ones have round. Been looking for a pic with no luck. Maybe some of you guys can find one.

Randy, I think yours is a good guess. Along he same lines I'd be inclined to guess these were butted up against the sod cuttng disk (coulter) of an older plow. It seems more likely they'd be slightly different, where on a disk harrow they'd probably match, plus there might be more chance of the one bolt breaking which would have released these into the field?

A type of spacer perhaps?

the disc idea is a great one, I would say theses date back to the 30's or so , hmmmm maybe i should use them as anchor weights

for my Scanoe ::)

they probably went together so that the small ends went together.hold them like that if you would and take another picture

They look like wagon wheel hubs to hold the wheel on the axle. They were held on by nuts that went on the axles. Sort of like how weights are held on a barbell.

No, those are definitley disk harrow spacers. They come round or square holed.

A couple things come to mind. One is a type pf spacer washer that is used on bushhogs or finnish mowers. If I had better measurements it might help. They were alot thicker than a normal washer.

Put the two small ends together on a shaft and it could be an idler pulley. Monty
