Searching for any info related to this Aluminium felling wedge I found in the woods today...
850E03CD-FAA8-42F2-B948-AD4FCC9F7E8F.webpMarked “Young” and “689”
I usually find the info with enough digging, but on rare occasions I need to call in the big guns.

thank you

I wouldn't think aluminum would make a good wedge?

They're made of plastic and aluminum so they won't damage the cutting chain. They use them to "push" the tree in the desired direction while still cutting with the saw.

Wooden and aluminum wedges are used more to hold the cut open to prevent pinching the bar than to cast the tree in any direction.

That's true. If it's pinching your bar, it's going the wrong way.

I found a “Young Iron works” in Seattle (My Home State)
they made logging tools including wedges since 19023CD1241B-19B1-42EC-8390-8F2860991FD0.webp
